Merry Christmas!

Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas!

Here's a look at everything that I received for Christmas....  (everything purchased was previously budgeted for - and, all purchases were made with Cash Money).  See Black Friday & MTMMO

All of my Christmas Gifts revolved around Sewing - well, this is SEW ReInvented Audrey!  Really, one thing led to another:

  1. New Sewing Machine (And, yes - I love it!): Brother CE8080PRW (purchased on Black Friday, but it was a roll back special at Wal-Mart)
  2. 9 New to Me (Out of Print) Vogue Patterns (Black Friday - great deal)
  3. New Look 6130 - There are so many reviews of this shirt on PR, I really wanted this pattern
  4. FABRIC! and Thread from Fabric.com (Black Friday)
  5. Pinking Shears - how did I ever live without these?  My projects are starting to look as nice on the inside as they do on the outside.  So winning!

I still have $25 in the Christmas budget, and I'm trying to decide on what to get.  In retrospect this is so funny, I would spend $25 without blinking.... Now, I've been trying to decide since Black Friday.  There are several sewing related books on my Amazon wish list.  Or, there are some dress maker shears.... Or, the possibilities are endless.

Black Friday & Fabric.com

Looking back on my Black Friday order, I should have planned out what I wanted.  I set my alarm clock to wake up at midnight - so, that I would be the first (or, at least among the first) to catch the sales prices....

But, my order ended up being all over the map.  (Like, I bought fabrics and thread, but none - except black - of the colors match!)  I'm beginning to think the whole point of the sale starting at midnight --> was to catch someone like me.  Since, I know I'll need to place another order.  LOL!

I should have started thinking about my spring / summer sewing before I placed that order.  So, I have some random things that don't really match up with my *new* sewing plans.  (Honestly, I'm still learning how to plan the plan.)  I really only sat down and started thinking about it (for real, for real) on Saturday.

In addition, to the items listed below, I got some $1.95 clearance fabrics and thread.

I'm making my birthday dress from this fabric (sunshine yellow broadcloth).  I also ordered some of this in red.  The Vogue Pattern has already been ordered.

I want to make a leather-look skirt, so I ordered this vinyl in black.  Wait, did I order the Teflon foot?  You already know.  I'll put that on my list.

In 2013, I want to make a quilt.  So, I ordered this for my pieces to get started.  There's a free Craftsy class - Block of the Month - that I heard about from Sann (blog: Wow Sew into It).

I have some ambitious goals, but I'm looking forward to the challenge.  And, with this holiday weekend (especially, since I celebrated early with my family) I've had a lot of chances to get things done.

And, I'm working on my first jacket!  Oh, yeah.

More Patterns --> Means More Fabric!

Since, I've ordered 7 new patterns from Vogue the other day.  That meant that I had to order fabric, so that I would be able to make the patterns.  **Don't judge me!**

Even though Fabric.com has announced that they are behind on fulfilling orders - I placed an order with them.  Mainly, because I know that even with the delays - I'll have that fabric within 2 weeks.  And, with the sale prices (plus, the additional 30% off of clearance) I can't help, but feel like a winner!

So, this is what I ordered and here are my plans.....I purchased a jean weight machine needle and thread - along with this fabulous fabric!

Rayon Blend Iridescent Shirting Butter - 2 yards

I'll make a shirt out of this, but I ordered it because I loved it every time I looked at it.  LOL!  Fabric 0-0 Love!

Jacquard Suiting Roses Maroon - 3 yards

I'm thinking V8815 (short sleeves) with a pair of V8541 elastic waist pants. Or, I could make the short sleeve V8840 with the shorter length pants.

Crepe Knit Chestnut - 2 yards

I had V1250 in mind when I picked this out!

Yarn Dyed Rayon Suiting Plaid White/Pink - 4 yards

I love this so, so much!  I want to make a jacket / skirt combo from this.  I would love to be able to wear it in January for Grandma B's 80th Birthday celebration (either, the dinner or Sunday Church Service)!  I'm kinda slow, so I need to get started immediately. V7975, the trim that I'm able to find will determine which jacket I make, and I'll likely make my V8541 elastic waist skirt (since, I would prefer a skirt with a back vent).

Designer Polyester Jersey Knit Zebra Light Green/White- 2 yards

I want to make a shirt from this.... I need to see it up close to determine exactly which one, but I'm leaning towardsV8534 (with the bow) or V8840

Now, I just need to plan out the order that I need to complete these projects.

NYC Fabric

Here's a look at the fabric I purchased in New York City during PR Weekend 2012...

I purchased this cotton fabric specifically for this Simplicity Patter (#1885 - I'm thinking about view A - the floral dress on the right).  I received this FREE pattern during the Simplicity Tour.  I didn't realize the amount of work that goes into creating patterns.  It was an unbelievable experience - I had so much fun during this trip.

I purchased this Knit Fabric (and, the cotton above) at Metro!  The guys were so, so nice and the cuts of fabric are so, so generous!

I purchased 3 yards of this Italian Tweed from Paron's. I looked at it, touched it, held up it to me.... and, I walked away that was on Friday (shopping day), but first thing Sunday morning - I went back to get it.  There was No Way I could leave this fabric in NYC.  I want to make a Jacket / skirt combo.....

Silk backed Polyester (or something like that) for either some simple shirts or night clothes.

One of my favorite buys... It's a Pink Paisley Brocade (it has metallic in it).  I so love this fabric!  I'm either going to make a dress or skirt from this.  I can't wait to wear it.

This is another Tweed that I purchased - before I cut the expensive Tweed - I'll practice making a jacket on this.

I also purchased some Black & White Zebra / Plain Black Cotton that I want to use to make a jumpsuit.  Unfortunately, I can't find a picture of that fabric - although, I know there's one somewhere.  In total, I purchased 22 1/2 yards of fabric.  I've been to NYC on several previous occasions, but I had a totally different view of one of my favorite cities.
