Pre-Trip (PR Weekend) Sewing

I really wanted to finish the jacket and the dress that I am in the process of making.

Unfortunately, I didn't have enough fabric for the dress - I need about 2/8 of a yard.  So, I just can't finish the dress - until, I order some more fabric.  I will place that order after my trip.

And, for the jacket - it's cut out and that's it.  Between packing and researching stores / patterns / fabrics that I want.  It was hard to dedicate any serious time to this project.  But, now - I'm packed and ready to go.  And, SEW excited I can't seem to get to sleep.  I'm expecting a great trip and I'll let you know how it goes!

Finally, my PINK skirt!

So, I finally had the opportunity to wear my PINK skirt.  And, yes the Pink skirt is just like the Purple and the Black (so, I didn't write a review for Pattern Review).  Not, a lot to say about this skirt - so, here it is....

Yes, more pictures from the bathroom at work....

My First Pair of Pants!

Here's the complete review of the Pants I made:

Pattern Description: Very Easy Vogue 8541 – Out of Print – Misses’ Jacket, Skirt and Pants.  Pull-on pants D have elastic casing and straight legs.  I only made the pants.

Pattern Sizing: 16-24. I made the 18, but I could have made the 16.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Absolutely Yes!

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, mostly – I think they could have been a little more clear.  Of course, I sewed both pant front to pant back the same way.  I ended up with a back and front in the back and in the front – LOL!  Luckily, I cut the pants 1 size bigger so, I was able to use the extra fabric to make it work.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I made it, I love it!  Finished it Monday night and wore it to work on Tuesday morning.  Oh, yeah!

Fabric Used: I used a black polyester crepe (about $4.85 per yard from Fabric.com).

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:  No changes made (only what’s listed above).

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes, I will make it again.

Conclusion: I love these pants & I received a lot of compliments!  Winning!

Look Out, NOW!

I made another another skirt - this time PURPLE.  I paid closer attention and I made it smaller, so it fits so much better than the black one.

Okay, so I needed to take pictures of the Purple skirt (you already know I have to e-mail them to mommie!), but I forgot until the end of the work day and..... Here's pictures of me posing in the bathroom!  LOL!  Thankfully, there wasn't anyone here to walk in on my performance.

This is the same as the Black skirt, so I didn't write a new review for Pattern Review.   I also made a PINK skirt, but I haven't worn it yet.... Other projects on the way, a jacket and a dress.  I hope to have the jacket and dress completed before PR Weekend that starts on May 17th.

Super Quiet & Super Busy!

I haven't been posting for the last 5 weeks, but I have been super busy..... Of course, I had to change my hair before Easter!  I used the same type of hair, but it has some highlights and I made a bang.  I love this style!  Normally, I change my hair every 4 or 5 weeks, but I'm trying to hold on to this style until I can't go any further.....

I have been working on a ton of projects... I spent one entire weekend in April - reading pattern instructions and cutting out fabric.... And now, I have a completed purple skirt, black pants and a pink skirt.  Joann's is gonna run out of elastic.  LOL!
