Inspiration from Burberry

I first saw a link to this amazing Burberry "Kickback Lace Trench Coat" on Erica B's - D.I.Y. Style.  And, I totally love, love, love this jacket.  It's way beyond my basic skills right now, but this amazing jacket gives me yet another reason to continue learning and striving with my sewing endeavors.

What I love about this jacket: color, style, LACE, and, of course, the kick-pleat on the back!

Needles Up,
Always Audrey

  2. I really think you can make this coat. It appears to have shoulder princess seams, front flaps, back yoke, collar with stand, and epaulets - all techniques that you certainly can do. Drafting the back flounce will take some thought, but you can certainly do it! Burda 7347 and McCall's 5525 are good pattern with which to start.

    1. OMG! You are the best... I love that McCall's 5525 pattern - it's out of stock on the website, but I'll have to check my Joann's & Hancock's because they might still have it in stock.

Thanks so much for posting this link.... She made my coat! I went to my Joann's & my Hancock's and neither one had that pattern. But, I'm still looking for it. And, I'm making a coat this summer....

      Thanks again!

    2. It's out of print and out of stock at McCall's. When it came out, I bought two copies so that I didn't have to trace for altering. You're more than welcome to have one of them. =) Can you email me?
